Yep, you read it right. Our very own Serena Van Der Woodsen was not pleased with the ending of Gossip Girl. It’s no secret that the ending was disliked by most of the viewers.

Recently, Blake Lively reshared a meme on her Instagram Stories that said: “We watched the entire series to find out it’s Dan”. The meme quickly sparked many comments and Lively herself joined the wave.  She added more text that said: “YOU’RE surprised… Imagine how the writers felt.” It’s safe to assume that Lively was not fine with the end of the show, just like the rest of us. It also looks like the writers were not pleased when they learned that they had to make Dan Humphrey as GG.

Take a look at the story below.

For six seasons fans created theories about who the person behind the infamous Gossip Girl blogging website was. Some people wanted it to be Dorota. Others thought that it was Eric. Nelly Yuki and Blair’s minions were also few of the suspects. It was truly a disappointment when it was revealed that Lonely Boy was the iconic Gossip Girl.

One of the major reasons that the ending was so heavily criticised because it was never supposed to be Dan. Producer Joshua Safran actually revealed that both Eric and Nate were supposed to be the big reveal. He revealed, “I like to joke that Dan was Gossip Girl because I had left the show by then. Dan was not my intended Gossip Girl. But I understand why Dan was Gossip Girl. I just had my heart set on Nate”

It totally makes sense because Nate never sent a tip to the Gossip Girl till the end of Season 5. “One of the writers realised that Nate had never sent a tip in to Gossip Girl, which is true through the end of season five,” Safran continued. “Nate never sent in a tip in through all of those episodes, which is why we’re like, ‘Oh, well then he’s Gossip Girl.”
