Flop Bollywood Movies Of 2022
7 Big-Budget Bollywood Movies That Failed At The BO In 2022

No. 3 on the list clearly ran out of luck!

After two years of the global pandemic and protracted lockdowns, filmmakers are finally releasing movies in full swing this year. Several big-budget movies have been released and some are yet to go live. In spite of extensive promotions and a stellar star cast, some of these much-anticipated mega movies (made over a budget of 100 crores) failed to create the magic that was expected out of them. Here’s a list that would make you wonder what really went wrong.

Shamshera

Shamshera is proof that no matter how big a production house is or how big an actor is, there’s never really a guarantee for success at the box office. With Ranbir Kapoor in the lead, this movie was produced in a budget of Rs 183 crore. But at the box office, it managed to only collect a meagre amount of Rs 65-75 crores.

Samrat Prithviraj

Historic films often fare well among Indian audiences, but this movie wasn’t one of them. With Akshay Kumar and Miss World 2017 Manuli Chillar in lead roles, Samrat Prithviraj was made on a budget of Rs 300 crores. However, the returns at the box office were as low as Rs 64.62 crores reportedly.

Laal Singh Chaddha

Aamir Khan aka ‘Mr. Perfectionist’ is known to have cracked the code for box office success. But with LSC , he failed rather miserably. The official remake of Forrest Gump was one of the most awaited and anticipated movies of all time. But the manner in which it tanked at the box office is rather disheartening. LSC was produced on a tight budget of Rs 180 crores but has only managed to bring in Rs 50 crore so far reportedly.

Raksha Bandhan

Akshay Kumar clearly ran out of luck with this one. Released on the same date as Aamir Khan’s LSC, the movie did live up to its hype. The movie was made on a budget of Rs 70 crores, but managed to earn only Rs 58.28 crores approximately.

Radhe Shyam

While Prabhas might have worked for a cult-favorite movie like Baahubali, this one was certainly not for him. Along with Pooja Hegde, this romantic drama failed to impress the audience. Produced on a budget of approximately Rs 300- Rs 350 crores, it proved to be a box office dud and how! Radhe Shyam collected only around Rs 120 crores.

Dhaakad

Kangana Ranaut had high hopes for this one. Dhaakad had an international team for its high voltage drama and yet it failed. Made on a budget of Rs 85 crores, the movie only earned approximately around Rs 3.77 crore.

Jayeshbhai Jordaar

The plot of this Ranbeer Singh starrer was indeed interesting, but it somehow failed to resonate with the audience. Backed by the Yash Raj banner, Rs 86 crores went into production, with a return of only Rs 26.31 crore.
