An Indian youtuber, you feel, is overrated?
I don’t know about that but I feel so many Indian YouTubers are underrated.
Three qualities you have that no one in your field does?
Maybe they do have these qualities but I’m honest, I’m not punctual and my characters are unique.
Describe yourself in one word?
Honest.
A crazy fan moment you had?
I met this guy outside a restaurant in Delhi. He was in his 30s, we were having a light conversation and he asked me ‘titu mama kaise hai?’ and I played along. Then he got serious and asked ‘woh aapke saath rehte hai?” and then I realised that he didn’t know that I play Titu Mama and I didn’t break the news to him.
The best piece of sex advice you ever received?
Mushkil hai.
An Indian celebrity you have a crush on?
Alia Bhatt.
What did your last relationship teach you?
It’s still teaching me a lot of things.
Tell us the most memorable pick-up line used on you.
I’m not that lucky, nobody has used any pick-up line on me.
How was your experience shooting for the Plus Minus?
Plus Minus is different from what I’ve been doing all these years. It came to me all of a sudden while I was sitting in Guneet Monga’s house and she asked me if I wanted to hear a script. She called over Jyotikumar Das who has written and directed the script. She narrated the story – the twist in the end and of course, Divya Dutta were enough to get me interested in the project. It was a wonderful experience and it was something I always wanted to do but I couldn’t because I couldn’t think of it. Now that I know that the team and I can pull off a short movie, we’re eagerly waiting to do more stuff like this.
What are you looking forward to in 2019?
Way too many things from BB Ki Vines to short movies and music videos.
Your most memorable moments from 2018
Plus Minus, 10 million on YouTube and some personal stuff at home.
The scariest thing you have done
I jumped off an airplane from 15,000 feet and I read out top five headlines of 2018 twice.
If you could be someone else for a day, who would you be?
Ranveer Singh.
A question you would like to ask everyone who interviews you?
I’d ask them to please get my name right. People have called me Bhushan, Bhuvam, Bhuvam Bum, Bhuvam Baym. The questions are all okay but they don’t get the name right.
