In 2020, Ajay Devgn announced the Hindi remake of the blockbuster Tamil action-thriller ‘Kaithi; Tabu will be seen playing a cop

After Drishyam and De De Pyar De, Ajay Devgn and Tabu will be seen together on screen in the Hindi remake of the Tamil film, Kaithi. Titled Bholaa, the film, which is directed by Dharmendra Sharma, is slated to release on March 30th, 2023. Tabu will play a super-cop in the film.

 

Taking to his Twitter handle, Ajay Devgn wrote, “Proudly announcing my next venture Bholaa, releasing on March 30th, 2023. @ADFFilms @TSeries @RelianceEnt @DreamWarriorpic #DharmendraSharma #Tabu.”

The announcement reads, “Excited to share with all of you Bholaa, the official remake of the Tamil super hit Kaithi that has Tabu and me in the lead, will release worldwide on March 30, 2023. The action-drama is directed by Dharmendra Sharma.”

 

In February, Tabu revealed that she had started shooting for Bholaa. The actress shared a picture of the clapperboard and wrote, “New beginnings. @adffilms @ajaydevgn @tseriesfilms @reliance.entertainment @dreamwarriorpictures @sarkarshibasish @prabhu_sr.”

Besides, playing the lead in the film, Devgn will also be producing the film in collaboration with Reliance Entertainment and Dream Warrior Pictures.

 

The upcoming film is a remake of the 2019 blockbuster Tamil movie Kaithi, an action-thriller that revolves around an ex-convict on the quest to meet his daughter after leaving prison but he is interrupted due to a well-orchestrated drug raid. Kaithi starred Karthik Sivakumar in the lead role.

Ajay Devgn is currently awaiting the release of his directorial Runway 34, which sees him alongside megastar Amitabh Bachchan and Rakul Preet Singh. The film is inspired by a true incident of the Jet Airways Doha to Kochi flight that had a narrow escape in August 2015, after facing difficulties to land at the Cochin International Airport due to bad weather.
