Clearly, ’twas a night to remember

Backstreet Boys is here, and the 90s kids clearly can’t keep calm! The American band—which enjoys a cult following of sorts— is currently performing across India as part of their DNA World Tour, marking their return to the country, after 13 years. The event was a treat for Indian fans, with the first show taking place at Mumbai’s Jio Garden, and a subsequent show is scheduled for today at 6 pm in Delhi. The band performed 33 bestselling songs during their two-hour-long gig, making it an evening to remember.

Scores of Bollywood insiders Shraddha Kapoor, Malaika Arora, Arbaaz Khan, and Natasha Dalal attended the widely-anticipated concert, which was steeped in nostalgia.

The band opened their set with the iconic track, I Wanna Be With You, and the crowds went berserk, and the air was filled with palpable excitement. Nick Carter addressed the crowd during their performance, saying, “It is not the weather that is making it hot, it is because of all of you. We had no idea we had so many BSB fans here, but we now see it, and we love it. It’s our second time in India, and we were waiting for a long time to come to Mumbai.”

Needless to say, the concert was a huge success, with attendees taking to social media to express their excitement and admiration for how things panned out. The Backstreet Boys had previously performed in the country in 2010, in Delhi. In an interview, band member Kevin Richardson revealed how the band has only grown stronger with time. “When we finally broke and had success, then it was like, ‘OK, it’s time for our second album.’ We would be in interviews and everybody would ask, ‘Are you worried about the sophomore slump?’ … And we were just like, ‘You know what? We would just love to have a long career.’ And so that’s what we’ve tried to manifest, and we just keep grinding and keep trying to create music that we love and enjoy what we’re doing. And here we are — who would’ve thought.”
