The Internet is now filled with posts and memes using the infamous “entanglement” term after Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith’s viral interaction where they addressed Jada’s “entanglement” with singer August Alsina. And while the Internet was still in the process of churning out more memes, Alsina decided to take advantage of the situation and drop a new song titled, you guessed it, Entanglements.
There is no doubt that the song is about Alsina’s affair with Pinkett Smith. “The definition of entanglement / It’s when you’re tangled in the sheets / Girl I know that we don’t call it a relationship / But you’re still f—in’ with me,” Alsina sings on the chorus. The song also features rapper Rick Ross, who makes his very own Will-Jada references in his verse.
The Internet’s obsession with the word “entanglement” comes after the unexpected and shocking Red Table Talk episode where Pinkett Smith described her relationship with Alsina as an “entanglement.” The show was made by Pinkett Smith herself to address and delve into deep, uncomfortable topics. While she has had a few memorable sessions, the episode with her husband Will Smith openly talking about her affair with Alsina definitely takes the cake.
