Jennette McCurdy, best known for her role as Sam Puckett in iCarly, recently released her memoir, I’m Glad My Mom Died. While talking about her sour relationship with her mother in the book, the actress also talked about her time with Nickelodeon. Puckett talked about the creator of the show, Dan Schneider, without naming him directly and mentioned having troubling experiences with him. The discussion sparked another controversy. Fans now feel Ariana Grande was also victimized like her while starring in Schneider’s other show, Victorious.
Grande and McCurdy worked together for a spinoff show titled Sam & Cat after their stint in separate shows. McCurdy had also revealed that when on sets, Schneider used to supply her with alcohol to apparently loosen her up. McCurdy was under the legal drinking age at that time. Post her revelations, fans did a little digging to resurface how Grande also experienced the same with Schneider.
A fan resurfaced Skarlett Akira’s 2019 YouTube compilation video where she can be seen in disturbing scenes. From sucking her toes to putting a finger in her mouth, the pop singer is seen doing many such odd things in these small clips. The videos were sourced from a Nickelodeon-launched website called The Slap. It gave fans exclusive videos of the characters away from the show. All eight mini-episodes of Cat’s Random Thoughts on this website were written and directed by Schneider.
Here’s What Fans Had to Say:
Ariana Grande was only 16 when she starred in Sam & Cat. And while she seldom discusses her time on Victorious or Sam & Cat, she did attend the former’s 10-year anniversary celebration in 2020. The singer has never even spoken out against Dan Schneider.
