Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli have made sure that they keep their daughter, Vamika, away from the limelight. Sharma has also requested the paparazzi to refrain from taking her daughter’s pictures as well. Despite her continuous effort, many often snap the little munchkin during their outings, much to the actor’s annoyance.

Recently Sharma, along with Kohli and their daughter, was spotted at the Mumbai airport. The family was clicked by shutterbugs. Some also managed to capture Vamika’s pictures. And while these pictures often go viral, the paps respected Sharma’s request and did not post the pictures online. Appreciating the gesture, the actor then took to Instagram to thank the media and fan clubs for respecting her space.
She wrote a humble message, “We are deeply thankful to the Indian paparazzi and most of the media fraternity for not publishing pictures/videos of Vamika. As parents, our request to the few who carried the images/video will be to support us going forward. We seek privacy for our child and would like to do our best to give her a chance to live her life freely away from media and social media. As she is older we cannot restrict her movement and hence your support is needed so kindly practice restraint in the matter.” She added, “A special thank you to fans clubs and people of the internet for going out of your way to not post images.”
Vamika was born on February 11. Sharma and Kohli had requested the press not to publish or click their daughter’s pictures. A note from the couple read, “Hi, Thank you for all the love that you have given us for all these years. We are happy to celebrate this momentous occasion with you. As parents, we have a simple request to make to you. We want to protect the privacy of our child and we need your help and support.”
Earlier, a fan had also asked Kohli to post pictures of his daughter. “What is the meaning of Vamika? How is she? Can we see a glimpse of her please,” the fan asked during an AMA session. The cricketer replied, “Vamika is another name for goddess Durga. No, we have decided as a couple to not expose our child to social media before she has an understanding of what social media is and can make her own choice.”
