Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s divorce has taken another shocking turn. After winning the custody battle, Jolie has now opened up about how she feared for her children and her family’s safety while she was married to Pitt. She added that the fear resulted in her talking about the domestic abuse that she faced while being married to the actor.
The actress was talking to The Guardian when she opened up about her marriage. While she revealed that she cannot say much on camera due to the ongoing legal case, she revealed how she feared for her children and family’s safety.“Yes, for my family. My whole family,” she said, adding that it wasn’t an easy decision to file for a divorce.
“It took a lot for me to be in a position where I felt I had to separate from the father of my children,” she revealed. Jolie also added that the whole experience has been traumatic and it has ‘broken’ her. “I think at the end of the day, even if you and a few people you love are the only people who know the truth of your life, what you fight for, or what you sacrifice, or what you’ve suffered, you come to be at peace with that, regardless of everything going on around you. We’ll always be a family,” she concluded.
After winning joint custody of the children, Jolie’s legal team raised issues with the Court’s decision and got full custody of the kids. Pitt was not satisfied with the decision and has now filed a new petition with the California Supreme Court to review the case. Pitt was tentatively granted joint custody of their five minor children.
The order, which came from Judge John Ouderkirk, the judge who officiated Pitt and Jolie’s wedding seven years ago, was revoked by the actress’ legal team. Her team said that the judge displayed “bias.” A California appeals court in July then approved the request made by Angelina Jolie to disqualify the judge.
