Back in 2016, Brad Pitt was in the news for all the wrong reasons. It was being reported that the actor had allegedly hit his son, Maddox, on a private plane. Maddox was trying to break his parents’ fight when Pitt lost his cool and slapped his son across the face. An anonymous FIR was filed in the case saying that Pitt had also assaulted another person on the plane. It is now being suggested that Pitt’s ex-wife, Angelina Jolie, was the person behind the complaint.
It is being claimed that Angelina Jolie filed an FBI report under the name Jane Doe. Various context clues within the report indicate similarities with Jolie’s experience with Pitt. Puck obtained the sealed documents and stated that the Eternals actress had filed a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit against the FBI. Jolie wanted to get information about the argument between her family and her ex-husband, and why no action was taken against Pitt back then.
According to the files, Pitt had spilled beer on Jolie and then grabbed her by the shoulders and shook her violently. “You’re f***ing up this family,” he told her. The event, interestingly, took place on the same flight where the actress claimed that Pitt had assaulted their son. The FOIA report was “about the agency’s investigation of an incident of domestic violence that occurred several years ago involving plaintiff and her minor children as victims and witnesses,” clearly indicating that it was Jolie and her son.
Why did the actress file an anonymous complaint? The file states, “Several years ago, while the plaintiff, her then-husband, and their children, who were all minors at the time, were traveling via private aircraft, the husband allegedly physically and verbally assaulted the plaintiff and the children.” The lawsuit was pursued to “better understand the FBI’s investigation and obtain information necessary for her children to receive medical care and trauma counseling.”
Doe with her lawyer Amanda Kramer filed the complaint back in April 2022. Talking about the lawsuit, Karmer articulated, “I am unable to comment on the identity of Jane Doe, who has sought to preserve the family’s privacy. Our position is that victims and survivors should be able to access federal agency records of crimes they experienced or reported, as is common at the state level, so they can advocate for health and trauma care and legal protections for their children and themselves.”
If you connect the dots further, During the custody trial in March 2021, Maddox had even testified against his father. Us Weekly had quoted a source saying that Maddox’s testimony “wasn’t very flattering toward” his father. “He doesn’t use Pitt as his last name on documents that aren’t legal and instead uses Jolie. Maddox wants to legally change his last name to Jolie, which Angelina has said she doesn’t support.”
