Amitabh Bachchan has been a part of many huge hits, and some of these films are really close to his heart as well. Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s film, Chupke Chupke, is one of those special films that Big B has fond memories of. Yesterday (April 12) marked Chupke Chupke‘s 46th anniversary, and the veteran actor celebrated this feat by sharing intriguing trivia about the film. Bachchan took to Twitter to share a really interesting fact about the making of the film which had a ‘Jalsa’ connection to it.

We all know how Amitabh Bachchan’s Juhu mansion is named Jalsa. But before it became this grand house that Big B now lives in, it was just a mere set for Chupke Chupke. Bachchan narrated the incident in his tweet and revealed how the house, where the cast shot for Chupke Chupke, became the mansion ‘Jalsa’ later. He revealed that films like Anand, Namak Haram, Satte pe Satta were also shot in the very house.

Posting a picture from the sets of the film, the actor wrote, “‘Chupke Chupke ‘, with Hrishi Da, closing in to 46 years today .. that house that you see in the pic with Jaya .. is now Jalsa my home, bought & rebuilt .. many films shot there – Anand, Namak Haram, Chupke Chupke, Satte pe Satta. It was Producer NC Sippy’s house, then…” He shared the same post on Instagram as well.

Bachchan’s post got more than one lakh likes within a few hours on Instagram. Filmmaker Kunal Kohli even dropped a comment saying, “Wow sir. What a feeling it must’ve been to be able to buy that house filled with so many memories of countless meetings, shootings. Incredible to retain a property like yours. There’s a history of Indian cinema in almost every move of yours.”

 

On the work front, Amitabh Bachchan will be seen in Rumy Jaffery’s Chehre next. The film which also features Emraan Hashmi and Rhea Chakraborty, was set to release in theatres on April 9. The film, however, was postponed due to the rise in coronavirus cases. The actor also has Brahmastra and Jhund in his kitty.
