Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone are reuniting for another exciting project. The duo, which was last seen in Piku together, will now be collaborating for the Hindi adaptation of Anne Hathway and Robert De Niro’s film titled The Intern. Late actor, Rishi Kapoor was initially roped in to play the role opposite Padukone, but after his sudden demise, Bachchan is now all set to replace the actor and step into the shoes of De Niro’s character in the film.

Making the happy announcement on social media, Padukone welcomed Big B on board by introducing a new poster of the film. “What an absolute honour to be collaborating with one of my most special co-star again! Welcoming Amitabh Bachchan to the Indian adaptation of The Intern,” wrote the actress along with the post. Bachchan also shared the poster on Twitter and wrote, “One more time… Indian Adaptation of The Intern. Looking forward,” and tagged the team of the film.

The Intern remake is being helmed by Amit Sharma of Badhaai Ho fame, and is being co-produced by Sunil Kheterpal, Deepika Padukone in association with Warner Bros India. The screenplay has been written by the duo of Akshat Ghildial and Mitesh Shah.
Apart from this, Padukone also has ’83 alongside husband Ranveer Singh, Shakun Batra’s untitled next featuring Ananya Panday and Siddhant Chaturvedi, Siddharth Anand’s Fighter co-starring Hrithik Roshan and Pathan with Shah Rukh Khan and John Abraham in the lead roles. As for Bachchan, he has four films lined up for a release. He will be seen in Rumi Jafry’s psychological suspense drama Chehre alongside Emraan Hashmi. He is currently busy shooting for Mayday, an Ajay Devgn directorial. The film will also star Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh in key roles. He also has Jhund and Brahmastra starring Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor in lead roles.
