Popularly known as ‘America’s boyfriend’, actor Noah Centineo has enjoyed unprecedented fame post his act in the Netflix original, To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before. While it was Lana Condor who was the star of the movie, Centineo became an instant heartthrob which was boosted by his often tumblr-esque captions and tweets. Now, The Wrap reports that the actor is set to play the superhero He-Man in Sony Pictures and Mattel Films’ Masters of the Universe.

The movie is based on Mattel’s much-loved toy line, on which the 1983-85 TV series and the 1987 film was based. The series and film are centred around He-Man and his exploits and heroics in the magical land of Eternia. While Dolph Lundgren played the titular character in the film, the villainous Skeletor was portrayed by Frank Langella.

While brothers Adam and Aaron Nee will be directing the reboot, the film will be produced by Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, and Steve Tisch, as well as DeVon Franklin.

Centineo is a rom-com star with films like To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before and Sierra Burgess Is A Loser under his belt. He’s also set to star in another rom-com called The Stand-In and the sequel to To All The Boys. It’ll be interesting to see how the 22-year-old Miami native fares in an action film.
