Alec Baldwin was shooting for Rust when this incident took place

Footage of Baldwin’s first conversation with a detective, after the mishap on the sets of Rust, was released by the police. Several other video evidences have been released by the law enforcement officials. The investigation files even include rehearsal clips that show the actor dressed in his costume and practising a quick-draw gimmick with a gun. Santa Fe County Sheriff Adan Mendoza released a statement that read that the investigation remains open as they wait for the results of ballistics and forensic analysis from the FBI and the reports of fingerprint and DNA.

He said, “Various components of the investigation remain outstanding, including FBI firearm and ballistic forensics along with DNA and latent fingerprint analysis, Office of the New Mexico medical examiner findings report and the analysis of Mr Alec Baldwin’s phone data extracted by Suffolk county Sheriff’s investigators.”

The incident involved Halyna Hutchins, 42, who succumbed to her injuries after the gun Baldwin was rehearsing with went off.

The video shows medics racing to the scene of the accident, and bodycam footage shows first responders trying to save Hutchins.

Other footage shows the director, Joel Souza speaking to police officers in the hospital. He was injured in the accident and is seen describing it and asking about Hutchins’ health. “I was down on my ass and I look over and see the cinematographer Halyna Hutchins with blood coming out of her back. There was a bang that was louder than I ever heard come from a blank before,” he revealed.

The director went on to talk about how armourer Hannah Gutierrez Reed had handed the gun to Alec Baldwin. It was assured that the weapon was “cold” or “clean,” indicating that it seemingly contained no live rounds.

Rust’s production house was fined $136,793 (£104,810), the maximum amount allowable by state law in New Mexico. The fine was followed with a six-month investigation by the state’s environment department.
