Akshay Kumar’s mother had not been doing well for quite some time now. When her condition got serious, the actor immediately flew down from London to be with his mother. It was only yesterday when he tweeted about his mother’s health and thanked everyone for their concern, but sadly his mother passed away today (September 8).

Akshay Kumar’s mother could not fight the battle with her ailments and left for her heavenly abode. The actor himself confirmed the news with a post. He wrote, “She was my core. And today I feel an unbearable pain at the very core of my existence. My maa Smt Aruna Bhatia left this world today morning and got reunited with my dad in the other world. I respect your prayers as I and my family go through this period. Om Shanti.”

Fans, friends and several celebs from the film fraternity consoled Kumar’s mother’s unfortunate demise on social media. His Airlift co-star, Nimrat Kaur, tweeted, “So very sorry for your profound loss. Deepest condolences and my heartfelt prayers to you and the whole family in this grave hour. Satnaam wahe guru @akshaykumar”.

 

Upon his return, the actor had shared a post saying, “Touched beyond words at your concern for my mom’s health. This is a very tough time for me and my family. Every single prayer of yours would greatly help.” Before returning to India, Kumar was shooting for Cindrella with Ranjit Tewari.

Kumar was shooting in London for the past month. He had shared a picture of himself from the streets of London and captioned the image as, “Just finished my quarantine in London today and stepped out for some fresh air. One look around and I was immediately transported to Ratlam which I remember visiting as a child during my summer vacations. Anywhere I’d see, I could see green. Missing Ratlam ki galiyaan.” The actor has Sooryavanshi, Raksha Bandhan, Ram Setu, Bachchan Panday and Atrangi Re in the pipeline.
