Akshay Kumar is all geared up for the release of his upcoming film, Bachchhan Pandey. The actor recently opened up about the possible impact of RRR release on the box office collection of his film. In an exclusive interview with Man’s World, Akshay said that owing to the pandemic, a lot of films are going to clash. Every movie is going to impact each other. He also mentioned that the business of the movie is going down by 30-40 percent. The actor calls it an unfortunate situation but he added that one has to deal with it.
He tells us, “See, because of this pandemic, lots of movies are going to come one on top of the other. To say at the moment impact, yes it obviously, it is going to impact. Every movie is going to impact each other. Everything, the businesses are going to go down by 30 to 40 percent. It is a very unfortunate thing but you have to deal with it.”
Akshay continues, “You have to understand, just like how we understood the fact that when we opened the theatres with 50 percent occupancy, it was an impact on the film, but you have to go with it. Still, my industry survived and we went ahead with it. So yes, to come back to the normalcy, it will take another year or more than a year probably.”
Akshay released two films during the pandemic – BellBottom and Sooryavanshi. Bachchhan Pandey also stars Kriti Sanon, Arshad Warsi, and Jacqueline Fernandez in lead roles. It is slated to hit the theatres on March 18th. SS Rajamouli’s RRR, on the other hand, will release on March 25th.
