The Kapil Sharma Show suddenly stopped production during the pandemic when showrunner, Kapil Sharma, decided to spend time with his family and his newborn baby. Months after the show went off air, the team is all set to return with a promise of laughter. Akshay Kumar, who will be seen in Bell Bottom next, will be the first guest on the show.

Kumar confirmed the news on Twitter with some banter with Sharma. Sharma had tweeted praising the trailer of his film three days after it was released. Taking his case, Kumar said that Sharma is only tweeting about the trailer now because he knows that the actor will be arriving on The Kapil Sharma Show. Kumar wrote, “Jaise pata chala show par aa raha hoon, best wishes bheji uske pehle nahi. Milkar teri khabar leta hooJn (You sent your best wishes after you got to know that I’ll be coming on your show, not before that. I’ll teach you a lesson when I see you).”

Earlier, Sharma took to Instagram to share the news of the show returning to Sony Entertainment Television channel. Posting a picture featuring his team – Sudesh Leheri, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Bharti Singh and Chandan Prabhakar, the comedian confirmed the return of the show. “New beginning with all the old faces#tkss #thekapilsharmashow #blessings #gratitude #comingsoon,” Sharma had captioned the post.

 

Talking about Akshay Kumar starrer Bell Bottom, the spy thriller also stars Vaani Kapoor, Huma Qureshi and Lara Dutta in key roles. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on August 19 in 2D and 3D formats. Talking about the decision of releasing his film in theatres amid the pandemic, Kumar said: “Releasing the film in theatres in such trying times is a gamble but we had to take this leap of faith. I am confident this will work and people will come to theatres to watch the film. Let us see what is going to happen.”
