In just another instance of celebrities getting to live stuff we always dream about, here Bollywood director Ahmed Khan, who went to The Batman …in a Batmobile!
The choreographer-turned-director, who is known for judging reality TV shows, and for movies like Baaghi and Heropanti, was spotted driving the Batmobile, which he gifted his wife, Shaira, on her birthday last year.
From the looks of it, Khan seems to be a fan of Keaton’s Batman, or at least that’s what his ride hints at. And we don’t blame him. The Tim Burton movie arguably had the best-looking Batmobile we’ve seen on screen, barring only the one seen in the Batman animated show.
Coming back to Khan’s ride, the Batmobile is reportedly an export from the US. It was made by Gotham Motors and brought to India by Mumbai-based Executive ModCar Trendz (EMT). The car apparently took 8 months to make it to our shores, and it cost a pretty penny of around Rs 40 lakh.
Khan isn’t the only fan owning the caped crusader’s ride in India. According to reports, Adar Poonawalla, CEO of The Serum Institute of India, converted his Mercedes S350 into a Batmobile. He also took the help of folks at Executive ModCar Trendz (EMT).
While the engine specs aren’t confirmed, reports suggest that Khan’s Batmobile might be powered by a 4.7-litre, twin-turbocharged, petrol engine which makes 469hp of power and 700Nm of torque.
If those numbers are true, don’t be surprised to see Khan ditching his director’s hat one day in the favour of the cape and cowl.
