A$AP Rocky had landed himself in trouble for an alleged shooting that took place in 2021. The singer has been charged for firing a gun at his former friend and A$AP Mob associate A$AP Relli. The incident took place on November 6, 2021. Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón publicized the charges today.
Rocky has been charged with two counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm. The singer was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport in April over the incident. He was returning from a vacation with Rihanna when the arrest took place. But, it was not until today that he was put on trial for this case.
“Discharging a gun in a public place is a serious offense that could have ended with tragic consequences not only for the person targeted but also for innocent bystanders visiting Hollywood,” Gascón said in a statement.
“My office conducted a thorough review of the evidence in this case and determined that the addition of a special firearm allegation was warranted.”
Relli , the victim, had earlier, announced his intentions to sue Rocky. His lawyers argued that the singer produced a firearm and fired multiple shots “without provocation, warning, or any justification.” The Los Angeles Police Department is now investigating the case. The rapper is scheduled to be prosecuted on Wednesday.
