Every other news article about Kartik Aaryan has been about the films that he has been losing offers of. After being removed from Karan Johar’s Dostana 2, the actor is said to have also walked out of Shah Rukh Khan’s film. Rumours also suggested that he is no longer a part of an Aanand L Rai backed film. Rai reportedly was planning a Hindi remake of Tamil romantic comedy, Kalayana Samayal Saadam, with Aaryan, but it never worked out.

Everyone was discussing how and why Aaryan was no longer a part of the supposed project, when Rai stepped in to rubbish the speculations. Confirming to ETimes, Aanand L Rai stated, “There was no such film signed by Kartik, all these reports are baseless. There are so many actors who come to meet me, but that does not mean that he or she has been signed for my film.”

While a Rai and Aaryan collaboration might not be happening anytime soon, fans are excited to see Atrangi Re, which stars Akshay Kumar, Sara Ali Khan and Dhanush in the lead roles. According to media reports, Khan will be appearing in a dual role while the music for the film is being composed by the legendary AR Rahman.

As of now, the film is set to release in theatres worldwide on Valentine’s Day in 2021. “I try to challenge myself with each and every film and bring something new to the table which the audiences can take back with them,” Rai told IANS in an interview.

“He is truly someone I can turn to for any kind of help. This year has been extremely hard for everyone. He has been there for me as a rock. On March 19, I was in Banaras shooting with him and returned to Mumbai the next day. Every third day during the lockdown, I’d tell him please take me back, I want to start shooting. Working with him has been a spectacular experience. I cannot wait to start our third schedule, hopefully very soon,” Khan had also said about working with the director.
