The 77th Annual Golden Globes Awards on Sunday night saw celebrities turn up at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles. The star-studded event played host to Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston, Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio, Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Elton John, and the list goes on.
1917 stole the show at the Globes by winning the best drama as well as earning the directing honor for Sam Mendes. Joaquin Phoenix won the best actor in a drama for Joker whereas Renée Zellweger bagged the best actress in a drama for Judy. Awkwafina won the best actress in a comedy for The Farewell and Bong Joon Ho’s Parasite took home the award for the foreign-language film.
On the TV side, Succession nabbed two awards overall–The best drama series and best actor win for Brian Cox. Phoebe Waller-Bridge scored a big acting award for Fleabag, which also took home the award for the best comedy series. Chernobyl claimed the Globe for the best-limited series as well as for supporting actor Stellan Skarsgard.
