Sometimes, we think that there is a huge divide between us and the Indian audiences. After all, there are some beautiful movies that bomb at the box office, and some terrible ones that do well. Recently, Mubarakan has found a lot of success, despite having a sorry excuse for an actor called Arjun Kapoor. It blows our mind as to how this is possible, but well, this is not the first time the audience reaction has surprised us. Let’s take a look at more such terrible films that were a success.
Housefull
Sajid Khan should be banned from filmmaking, and we cannot get how anyone other than him can laugh at his jokes. Which is why when we found out that Housefull actually sold a lot of tickets, we were left flabbergasted at the low IQ of Indian audiences.
No Entry
No one should be allowed to enter a theatre which is playing No Entry, and the horrendous title song is fit only for the harshest of torture chambers. But believe it or not, the movie actually did manage to make audiences laugh, and raked in money.
MS Dhoni: The Untold Story
One of the worst biopics ever, the only thing good about MS Dhoni: The Untold Story was that Sushant Singh Rajput was able to mimic Dhoni’s body language and batting style. It probably worked only because people expected MS Dhoni’s Untold Story, but unfortunately the film had no story, leave alone anything untold.
Happy New Year
Another horrendous film, this film was a hit despite some extremely tacky fashion choices and over the top acting. Probably, director Farah Khan took lessons from brother Sajid Khan, and most of the film’s jokes were so bad, it almost made us throw our shoes on the screen.
Ek Tha Tiger
Ek Tha Tiger was probably the worst spy film we’ve seen in our lives, and the action scene that plays in the climax just added to the WTF nature of the story. As we all know, Salman’s made a killing out of acting in such films.
