Mandira Bedi will be seen in this week’s release Vodka Diaries, and we’re extremely excited to see her. Mandira had established herself as a great actress with the extremely popular show Shanti, and even through special appearances in films like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. Later, she gained recognition for hosting the IPL show Extraa Innings during the initial seasons of the IPL with Charu Sharma.
What we admire about her now is how she has turned into a fitness fanatic, and proven that age is just a number. Let’s take a look at her Instagram profile, to see some of her workouts.

She swears by the philosophy of sweat now and shine later, and if her recent bikini pics are anything to go by, we’re sure she puts in the hard yards at the gym.

“The turning point was when I was signed for Khatron Ke Khiladi in 2008. I thought if I’m going to be wearing shorts on national television, let me have the body for it. This is when I got myself a trainer. I wanted to be a fit and strong contender. And the training got so ingrained in me that when I broke my foot, the first thought to cross my head was, “How am I going to exercise?” From then on, physically, I got a more toned body… a sharper jawline. That was the time I also did several covers of magazines,” she said in an interview with Hindustan Times.

As you can see in the above video, she has got her concentration A-Game on while doing weighted sumo squats.
As far as her diet is concerned, she follows a strict regimen. “After I wake up, I have milk and follow it with breakfast comprising fruit or eggs/omelet, and toast. My lunch consists of dal, sabzi and roti. I don’t eat rice except on Sundays. At around 5 pm in the evening, I feel hungry and prefer having handful of chana, peanuts, popcorn or soya chips. Then, 8.30 pm is my dinner time. On days I am not trying to lose weight, I eat dal, sabzi and roti,” she said in an interview with Pinkvilla.

She is an inspiration for many women who want to climb that fitness laddder, and reverse the ageing clock.
She didn’t have it easy always and gained some weight while being pregnant. “Then, at 38, I got pregnant. During my pregnancy, I gained 22kg. My gynaecologist said, “You’ve overdone it. Eight to 13kg weight gain is normal.” I never went overboard but I did gain the weight. At that time one of my co-actors advised me, “Just remember to lose your baby weight within seven to eight months. The faster you lose the weight, the easier is the process. Else, your body gets used to the excess weight and it remains,” she said in an interview with Hindustan Times.

We hope that she stays fit like this always, and we hope that Vodka Diaries gives her acting career a fresh boost.
