The upcoming festive season is bringing quite a bit of movie and TV show action our way, with big releases from Netflix, Apple TV+, and more. From the final season of the cult comedy What We Do in the Shadows to the Ananya Panday-starrer Netflix thriller, here’s everything that should be on your binge list this month.

Vikramaditya Motwane’s psychological thriller, CTRL, follows social media power couple Nella (Ananya Panday) and Joe (Vihaan Samat) as their lives spiral after a public breakup. Nella turns to an AI to erase her past, but it drags her into a nightmare where digital control blurs with reality.

There’s good news and bad news. The good news is, the new season of Hulu’s What We Do In The Shadows is streaming this month. The bad news is it’s the last one. Alas, the cult-comedy show, which is set in the same universe as Taika Waititi’s 2014 movie will see Guillermo (Harvey Guillén) questioning his identity after a brief taste of vampire life. Meanwhile, the rest of the crew realizes they’ve wasted the last 50 years without achieving a single goal.

Shrinking was an unexpected wholesome comedy from last year, starring Jason Segel as the said wholesome therapist, along with a surprisingly wholesome Harrison Ford. It’s somewhat more or less similar in the second season as Jason Segel and Harrison Ford return in Shrinking, where a grieving therapist throws ethics out the window and starts telling his clients exactly what he thinks. As his life spirals, so do those around him.

Speaking of wholesome, Netflix’s Heartstopper was quite a hit with its debut season. For 2024, Charlie and Nick are ready to take their relationship to the next level in Heartstopper. As they navigate love, Elle and Tao also face their own challenges with trans intimacy and big life decisions about university.

Not many might’ve seen 2019’s “The Platform” a rather satirically horrifying Spanish-language anthology thriller that doesn’t skimp out on gore. Well, ahead of Halloween, the dark, satirical world of The Platform returns for a sequel. This time, Netflix is keeping plot details under wraps, but the twisted prison hierarchy and the brutal food chain system are sure to make a comeback.
