Bollywood keeps churning out an increasing number of movies every year. The upside is that it ushers in new talent but on the other hand, some actors are unable to cope up with the competition and ultimately fade away into nothingness. Here are some of these shooting stars.
Celina Jaitly
Following her 2003 debut with Janasheen, the gorgeous-looking actress featured in box office hits like No Entry and Golmaal Returns. But after a few failed attempts at lead roles, the former Miss India’s career soon fizzed out as she was last seen on the silver screen in 2014.
Dino Morea
The eye candy actor started his career as a runway model and many believe that it should have stopped right there. To his credit, he was a part of Raaz and a few Tamil projects albeit much hasn’t been heard of him thereafter.
Koena Mitra
After debuting with Ram Gopal Verma in 2002 and achieving mild commercial success with movies like Apna Sapna Money Money, Koena’s career turned out as dreadful as her plastic surgeries. Her last role of any significance was in a Bengali film almost a couple of years ago.
Fardeen Khan
How many times have we seen star kids failing to fill in the big shoes of their successful parents? Despite bagging a Filmfare Award for his debut, Fardeen’s terrible film choices didn’t help his dwindling career, neither did his cocaine situation. He’s been MIA since 2010.
Tanushree Dutta
Many guys were blown over by this 2004 Miss India winner as she arrived on the scene with Aashiq Banaya Aapne. Thereafter though, her career never really took off and forced her into a sabbatical that seems to last an eternity.
Siddharth
His Bollywood bow in Rang De Basanti left many ladies weak in their knees. Unfortunately, it never really came to much apart from a couple of other anonymous projects. We really hope that the Tollywood actor makes his Hindi comeback before it’s too late.
Esha Deol
Things looked promising initially for the Deol kid with around a dozen films in her kitty in no time. A series of flops later, however, the shine wore off and a failed attempt at a Bollywood comeback in 2011 was her last notable appearance on the big screen.
Adhyayan Suman
Shekhar Suman’s son stepped into the industry with Haal-e-Dil in 2008. It tanked. And so did all his other projects thereafter. That’s why we only hear from him when it comes to Kangana or Hrithik and not so much more about his acting career.
Amrita Arora
It was a case of the younger sibling following into the footsteps of the elder one. But it was only a matter of time that reality donned upon the former as she has managed to build a life away from acting since 2009.
Rajpal Yadav
The comedian was one of the funniest around back in the day as he played some memorable roles through the 2000s; but then struck misfortune. He couldn’t payback his debts on time and was even sent to jail by the Supreme Court. Films have been far and few ever since as he now plans to set foot in politics.
