The holiday season is almost here, and it’s going to be an indulgent one, given how the year has been. I’m of the opinion that healthy food can be really, really tasty, and here are places that can make that a reality if you’re the ‘frown upon a green bowl’ kinds.

Flax: Healthy Living

The best part about the food at Flax is that it has different degrees of healthy. Also, the food is more about a healthy lifestyle, than just “eat clean to lose those inches”. Their stuff is all local produce, and they have some of the nicest wraps. Their falafel wrap with beetroots, hummus, avocado, lettuce, and bocconcini is really filling. They also have subscriptions, where you can subscribe to a certain kind of meal plan — detox, cleanse, etc., and you can customise your eating plans accordingly. Quite the healthy fix.

AtomBox

AtomBox is one of the newest ones on the block, and it’s one of those healthy eating places that has found a way to sneak dessert into your health plan too. Their Turkish wrap is one of the best I’ve had, slightly spicy, and totally delectable. Their meal bowls are the most interesting, like this harissa prawn bowl, which comes with some cauliflower, quinoa, and barley, and tasty, marinated prawns. For those who need that one bite of sweet, they have vegan mousse, and almond flour brownies. Clean packaging, clean eating.

Fuel Up

Fuel Up is literally for you to fuel up. Protein-rich foods, salads, sandwiches, they even have daliya khichri. A trusted delivery space for many who want to eat clean, but somehow can’t make the time to plan their meals. If you’re planning to make the switch to brown rice, they have this herbed brown rice with a choice of sauces, like spinach, tomato, and some chicken. Want to eat a sandwich but don’t want to indulge in bread? They have a rotiwich, made with roti, and it is the most desi fix of healthy you can get.

Seeds Of Life

Health freaks, Seeds Of Life will give you the fanciest healthy bowls. If you’re looking for a good breakfast that keeps you full, but is not difficult to swallow (cough coconut yogurt cough), they have some really interesting bowls to choose from — like the cacao bowl, which has almond milk, banana, and dates topped with granola. They make pizza healthy, you guys. So in case you have a mid-week craving but don’t want to go too off track, they have a bunch of interesting pizzas with a thin wheat base, and vegan cheese.

Farmer’s Café

Healthy, vegan, gluten-free. Farmer’s Café is another spot that makes healthy look good, and taste good. Beautiful smoothie bowls (I take a lot of my inspiration for my breakfast from their bowls), interesting healthy desserts, and gourmet burgers too, all healthy. Their latest addition is this baked beetroot, kale, quinoa patty burger with hummus, avocado, and feta. Also, nothing like a healthy, simple, skinny tea cake to go with your calming tea, right?
