All Game of Thrones fans, rejoice! HBO is going to launch an official collection of Game of Throne wines and the series will be named Seven Kingdoms, so you better be prepared with your goblets.
All set to release early next spring right before season 7, the wine collection includes Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and a red blend which is apparently inspired by Tyrion Lannister’s red wine obsession we’re presuming.
HBO partnered with Santa Rosa-based winery Vintage Wine Estates for the collection and Jeff Peters, who is the director of licensing and retail for HBO stated, “Given the prominent role of wine on Game of Thrones and our previous success in the beverage category, an officially licensed wine for the show feels like a natural extension for our fans”.
This isn’t the first time the show has inspired a collection of wine because in the year 2014, there was a whole range of wines that was introduced by Australian winemakers. Also, a New York based brewery, known as Ommegang, once released a series of beers which included names such as Take the Black Stout, Iron Throne, Valar Morghulis and Iron Throne, all inspired by GoT.
