Even with the restricted timing and the pandemic clouding everyone’s mood, the F&B industry, despite being badly hit, has relentlessly kept coming up with newer menus, restaurants, and delivery systems to ensure that we’re not totally deprived of our need and interest to eat out. So much so that we’re doing another update. Check out these new menus, restaurants, and deliveries for the coming weekend.
O Pedro X Thirsty Fox
The all natural craft cider brand,Thirsty Fox, has launched its newest cider, Kipp, exclusively at O Pedro in BKC, Mumbai. To celebrate this launch, O Pedro and Thirsty Fox have set up a Fox Box — your own little picnic — where O Pedro’s best bites are paired with three of Thirsty Fox’s ciders — Izzy, Kipp, and Reed. My favourite is Kipp, with its peppercorn-that-feels-like-Christmas-in-your-mouth feel. Izzy is lighter and crispier, and will go well for those who like their brunch to be lightly boozy. Chef Hussain of O Pedro has whipped up a rather unique cultured Kipp Cider Butter, infused with some more cider, to slather over house-made freshly baked pooe. These Fox Box meals are great for a Sunday brunch with your loved ones. O Pedro also has the ciders with the meals for dine in, for a limited period.
Date: August 27-29, 2021.

Pink Wasabi
Ikigai meets Instagrammability at this new Juhu restaurant. Pink Wasabi is where the current cool crowd is dining. Rose-adorn interiors, wisteria-covered exteriors. and candy-floss pink furnishings, with a sushi truck parked inside and a phone booth to take your signature IG pictures, the aesthetics of the space are vibrant, eccentric, and welcoming to those who love to see the cuisine they’re eating in their interiors too. True to plan, the Asian menu of Pink Wasabi has something for everyone. The sushi is fresh and light, the blue rice with truffle and edamame doesn’t let the edamame dominate the flavour of the rice but just hints at it the right amount, pink noodles that taste as good as they look, and cocktails with fresh, organic ingredients. Their dessert menu has brought two things, which I usually avoid, at the top of my favourites list — coconut, and jasmine. Their coconut mousse, coated with chocolate to look like a coconut shell, pairs perfectly with a sour-sweet passion fruit compote. They do a fresh jasmine mousse with raspberry insert, which has a subtle jasmine taste that blends with the more overpowering berryness of the raspberry, making it the perfect, light dessert.

House of Mandarin’s New Menu
House of Mandarin is, again, a Mumbai favourite for oriental fare, and they have just revamped the place as well as their menu. While the new menu additions are something to look forward to, regulars can be rest assured their favourites will still be making an appearance. I dug into the mushroom hot buns — soft, slightly sweet cotton cloudy buns stuffed with minced button mushrooms cooked in slightly spicy sauce, upping the umami game. Other than the comfort of their dim sums and cheung fun, their desserts do well for themselves too. The seven layer mousse that’s poured over with hot chocolate will make you forget your worries (I know I forgot a deadline, almost).
antiSOCIAL Sunday Brunch
Yes, a new Sunday brunch option at a place that’s much trusted by most of us. Starting this month, antiSOCIAL is introducing Sunday Brunches with live food counters, cocktails, board games, and ‘90s hits coupled with disco music. I know, we’ve all missed live counters. Each antiSOCIAL brunch will feature a different menu wherein one can experience three live food counters — a chaat stall, momo and dim sum stall, and a live tawa counter. From appetisers such as Multani Mushroom, Truffle Shiitake & Mushroom Pizza, Paneer Tikka Sliders, to mains such as Mac & Cheese with Crusty Garlic Bread, or a full fledged Veg Tawa Pulav, Papad and Raita, not to mention special cocktails like a Liquid Funk (vodka, gin, tequila, gold rum, palm sugar syrup, cold brew, and apple), among others. A great idea to booze it up before your afternoon Sunday siesta.
Every Sunday from 12 PM to 4 PM.
TAP (The Art of Pizza)
Pizza is really taking over the city, and that can never be a bad idea. TAP, The Art of Pizza, is a premium pizza brand that brings forth exotic flavours with creative and unique toppings. With pizzas made of high-protein Italian flour, Italian tomatoes, protein-rich veg toppings, and all-natural mozzarella cheese with a crusty base, TAP has kitchens at Fort, Parel, and Juhu and two new outlets will launch in Powai and Bandra. The brand is vegetarian, and they have some interesting choices on the menu that go beyond your usual veggie delight-ish vibe; they also offer unique mock meat options for meat lovers. Their menu has 3 “zero chicken” pizzas that are green, and yet deliver on the texture and flavour that meat eaters like. Ordering in on a Friday night? We think so.
