Indians love their movies and food, so, it shouldn’t be surprising when they decide to fuse the two together. Bollywood celebs have inspired many and all kinds of food-makers all around the country. Take a look at five such food items that were inspired by and named after Bollywood actors:
Deepika Padukone
2019 started off on a rather funny note for Deepika Padukone. It was brought to her attention by a fan, that there was a food item named after her. The actress found it hilarious and replied tot he fan on twitter saying “what a great way to begin the year…Happy New year!”
Ranbir Kapoor
The actor was in Chandigarh to promote his film Raajneeti, when he visited a dhaba on the outskirts of the city. After seeing his favourite actor drop in, the dhaba owner whipped up a special chicken dish for Ranbir Kapoor and went on to name that dish after the actor.
Huma Qureshi
Qureshi was a frequent visitor of a restaurant in Italy and always ordered a specific kind of dish with very specific instructions. The restaurant, thus, decided to name the dish after her. Named ‘Huma Qureshi’s Favourite’, the dish is made with assorted vegetables all cooked in minimal oil.
Kareena Kapoor
It is known that that Kareena Kapoor loves pizza (who doesn’t), so, when an all new pizza restaurant opened up in Delhi, they decided to name a pizza after the actress. This was shortly after the release of her movie Tashan, and the pizza was inspired by Kapoor’s size zero figure in the film. The ‘Kareena Kapoor Size-Zero Pizza’ is a thin crust pizza topped with red chilies, onions, baby corn, finely diced chicken and low fat cheese.
Mallika Sherawat
Mallika Sherawat may not be around like she used to a few years ago, but she still managed to inspire a New York milkshake bar to name a drink after her. Sherawat was a loyal customer at West Hollywood-based milkshake bar, Millions of Milkshake and the owners decided to name a milkshake after her. The ‘Mallika Shake’ comprises of raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, strawberries and is topped by chocolate sauce.
