Pravas
Opens in January
From the owners of SMAAASH, comes a heartfelt, train-shaped Gujarati Kitchen and Bar that pays homage to grandma’s home-cooked food and highlights regional cuisine at its finest.
Verbena
Opens in January
A 10,000 sq. ft micro-brewery by the owners of SMAAASH, this roof-top bar will brew its own beer using imported malts where you can enjoy a great meal under the star-lit sky. An impressive wine cellar with the longest indoor and outdoor bar to match, the resto-bar will also host gigs and cultural events in the future.
The Stables
Opens in January
From the owners of the OPA Bar and Cafe in Mumbai, Dubai’s ‘The Stables’ will now open in Mumbai. It draws its inspiration from world famous winning horses (in the history of horse racing) namely the Secretariat, Barbara, Red Rum to name a few. It’s a classy and sassy pub with a dedicated space for live gigs. The space is built to facilitate band interaction with the crowd and the decor is inspired by the Victorian era, but with a contemporary touch.
Rodeo Drive
Opens in January
From the owners of the OPA Bar and Cafe comes a young American Bar concept that has already created waves in Dubai. An interactive space with a Rodeo Bull riding arena, Rodeo Drive is an American Bar and Grill, focussed on its love for the country side Rodeos. They have a mechanical bull, American automobiles, some drinking games and a whole lot of things in store for you, this January.
Amanzi Sky Deck and Bar
Opens in January
Amanzi is a luxury skydeck and a poolside bar which will serve contemporary European food at Hill Road Bandra. Specializing in grills, bakes and woodfire pizzas, the bar will boast of a mix of fresh fruit cocktails and tiki drinks by using a molecular mixology. Open all day, this place will turn into a club/lounge later in the evening.
DROP
Opens in January
Drop is a modern European cuisine restobar that will redefine the way we consume Italian, Bulgarian or Bohemian cuisine in India. Touted as Mumbai’s best European resto-bar experience, Drop will be located in the heart of Bandra.
The Bar Stock Exchange Malad and Borivali
January or February
Probably one of India’s most popular pub chains, TBSE will expand its foot print to its first landmark, ie., 10 outlets. Malad and Borivali will be the 9th and 10th outlets of TBSE and will be followed by Dubai, Singapore, Bangalore and Gurgaon.
Palate Culinary Academy and Space by Chef Rakhee Vaswani
Opens in January
Debuting in India, Celebrity Chef and passionate culinary teacher Rakhee Vaswani will launch her first ever Palate Culinary Academy in Mumbai this January. A swanky 2,000 sq.ft. state of the art space in Bandra, this venture is an extension of Palate Culinary Studio and will have some innovative opportunities in India’s culinary landscape.
PCA will not only host all the UK-certified Culinary, Patisserie & Bakery courses, but also many other international professional programs, Chef-special pop-ups, fancy brunches, mouth-watering sun-downers, kid’s birthday parties, corporate team-bonding sessions and many other food-based events that Mumbai hasn’t witnessed yet. From the owners of 29, DOW is a sweet endeavour to bring together desserts and technique from across the globe to a gorgeous cafe, set up in Kemps Corner. Open all day, the vegetarian menu will have teas from across the world alongside a menu filled with some delectable delights.
29 in Malad
Opens in January
A pure vegetarian restaurant, 29 brings together cuisines from all across the 29 states of India to Malad. Also, look out for its CSR initiative where school children will be taught geography through an organized food trail.
Wok Express
December end or January
India’s most popular Chinese QSR Chain, Wok Express, is rapidly expanding its footprint in Mumbai with their 13 and 14th outlets in Vikroli and Ghatkopar.
Tasse De The (Cafe)
Opens in March or April
Indian luxury brand Tasse De The will launch its teas in early 2017 in a French and Victorian styled tea cafe with a selection of 300+ teas and blends.
