Have you ever noticed how the typical Bollywood hero is macho, has chiselled abs and is always raring to go? He beats up villains for the sake of his heroine and seems to possess the perfect 6/6 vision. Unbelievable, right?
Rarely do we get to see actors in films donning a pair of glasses, reading a book (or even a newspaper), discussing worldly affairs, and not revolving their life (or their sole reason to survive) around women.
And so, with Shah Rukh Khan bringing sexy back (and a little bit of that shrewd intellect) in Raees by sporting glasses after Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and Mohabbatein, here’s a rare list of some actors, starting with King Khan, who’ve sported glasses for films and have looked dapper in them.
Shah Rukh Khan – Raees and Mohabbatein
King Khan has never looked sexier, like he does in Raaes, with his unconventional kohl eyes and those edgy glasses. We did love his mature bespectacled look in Mohabbatein, but in Raees, he exudes an aura of sharp authority and badassery. Don’t you think so too?
Ranbir Kapoor – Raajneeti
He played a politician in the film and looked every bit that part with those glasses on. Since we’ve only seen Ranbir in coming-of-age sagas where he mostly plays a man-child, his mature bespectacled look definitely managed to catch our eye.
Arjun Rampal – Inkaar
He played the role of a CEO of an advertising agency in Inkaar and the Greek God did manage to pull off those glasses with panache.
Hrithik Roshan – Kaho Na Pyaar Hai
In typical Bollywood style, what differentiated the two men who looked the spitting image of each other were, of course, glasses. Nevertheless, Hrithik did manage to steal our hearts and distract us from the plot with his suave appearance wearing those rimless spectacles.
Shahid Kapoor – Jab We Met
Managing to distract us from his baby-face by hiding behind those neat pair of glasses, Shahid pulled off the serious business tycoon-like demeanour he was portraying in Jab We Met.
