Anaconda bites Shane Warne's head
Anaconda bites Shane Warne’s head

Cricket. Snakes. Sudden violence. This video has it all

If you’ve followed Shane Warne’s career both on and off the field, you will know that he doesn’t shy away from a bit of grandstanding. As a participant on the TV show I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!, Warnie performed a challenge that involved him putting his head into boxes full of some decidedly intriguing things – African clawed frogs, scorpions, Madagascan hissing cockroaches, rats and snakes.

The legendary leggie apparently worked his way through them all, and despite an admitted fear of snakes, plunged his noggin gamely into a box containing (non-venomous) rat snakes, corn snakes and anacondas. He was almost immediately chomped on by a juvenile anaconda, whose bite has been likened to being punctured by lots of hypodermic needles. Warne was given medical attention and is apparently fine, and we’re not entirely sure if his fear of snakes has been dramatically banished or greatly heightened. Might be safer to stick to the Masters Champions League, mate.
