November is a time of the year where you should be ready to keep your razors, scissors, and trimmers on rest for a month, and grow your facial hair for cancer prevention. You are definitely living under a rock if you have no idea about the famous No-Shave November. No-Shave November is a month-long movement to spread awareness by embracing facial hair and letting it grow which cancer patients lose.
Every year the Movember foundation continues to hold the annual month-long movement called “The No-Shave November” or “Movember” which encourages men to grow out their beards in order to bring attention to men’s health. It’s a campaign that has been around for a decade and has been raising awareness for prostate and testicular cancer.
The key is to go shave-free for a month or more than that. The rules are simple, just put down your razor down for 30 days and donate for monthly hair maintenance expenses to the cause.
So in the spirit of No-Shave November, we have compiled a list of grooming tips on how to maintain your beard.
KEEPING IT CLEAN
The most important grooming tip in the No-Shave November month is the keep your beard clean from all sorts of dirt. Use a gentle cleanser or soap to remove dirt and to keep your mane clean.
MAKE BEARD OILS YOUR BEST FRIEND
In the No-Shave November season, make the beard oil your best mate. The market is flooded with different brands of beard oils that help grow your facial hair firmly and evenly.
MOISTURISE
If your facial hair starts giving you itching, it’s because of the dry skin underneath. Invest in a good moisturiser that will soothe your skin underneath the facial hair.
LET IT GROW
Patience is the key. Give your beard some time to grow. It is going to be difficult to manage, but keep going.
FOCUS ON SKIN
Maintain a proper skincare routine while maintaining your beard. Men tend to ignore skincare but it’s important as the clogged pores and blackheads can cause further damage to your skin. Make sure that you add face mask and scrubs to your daily routine.
INVEST IN A BEARD COMB
There are combs that are exclusively made for your facial hair. Beards need a lot of attention. Use beard comb the way you use your normal comb to brush your hair. It prevents dandruff and helps to keep the beard free from dust.
