Pranav Misra: The Fashion Designer’s Morning Routine

The man behind hype label Huemn has figured out the answer to clean living

In an era that glorifies hustle culture, poet and designer Pranav Misra chooses to go against the grain and savour life—one moment at a time—with a robust wellness routine. And he does it while calling the shots at his buzzy, hype-inducing label, Heumn. Is there a secret to his monk-like calm and unbridled creativity? We find out.

How do you start your mornings?
Pranav Misra: IA glass of warm water and chia seeds, followed by a hot cup of tea. An hour of my morning time is dedicated to reading. I start with the day’s newspaper and then continue with the books that I might be reading at the time.

What will we see sitting on your bathroom shelf?
PM: Bathroom essentials, plants and books.

Your go-to grooming products?
PM: Hair dust and hair serum by Off Days [by Rod Anker].

 Your day and night fragrances
PM: Burberry Hero mixed with Gucci Bloom in the day and Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt at night.

How do you like your coffee?
PM: A hot, single shot americano.

What does breakfast look like?
PM: Seasonal fruits, oats, two eggs, grilled tomato, baked sweet potato, toast and sautéed vegetables.

What’s your workout routine like?
PM: I mostly walk the entire day even if I am working from home. I eat my breakfast walking, too. Besides that, I also visit the gym for weight training.

Different news portals you check out in the morning.
PM: The Hindu.

Morning music.
PM: Currently, none. Usually, it depends on my mood, sometimes it’s hard metal, sometimes 90s Bollywood. The range is large.

What are you currently reading?
PM: Orhan Pamuk’s Museum of Innocence, Rilke, Man’s Search for Meaning by Viktor E. Frankl, Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom.

Three things we’ll always find on your nightstand.
PM: Books, my late beloved father’s rosary and aspirin.

Grooming essentials you swear by.
PM: Shampoo and conditioner as well as an underarm roll-on. My most recent find has got to be the Vit. C Face Serum by Minimalist.
