If you think Vicky Kaushal posts thirst traps by posting his pictures in wet shirts with abs peeking out, you’re not entirely wrong! But he also serves as a major fitness inspiration to all of us who are lazing in the blanket in winter. The actor is currently gearing up for his next release Chhaava, and has been preparing for his character’s look for a while now. The preparation also includes spending hours in the gym working on toning and sculpting his body.
However, this is not the first film project for which he has transformed his physique to suit the requirements of his character; whether it’s lean body for Sam Bahadur or hot-boy-next-door in his recent rom-com, Bad Newz. The actor works out with some of the ace trainers, Tejas Lalwani and bulking up with Mustafa Ahmed, who work with leading Bollywood actors like Hrithik Roshan and John Abraham. While he has the team of trainers and dietician working with him on his routine, Kaushal’s dedication and the will to show up despite odds is what makes him different from his contemporaries and all of us. Here’s what the actor does in the gym to keep himself in shape
Deadlifts for Stronger Back
The actor is seen hitting deadlifts in the gym, of course under the guidance of his trainer. Once you are able to get hang of your routine in the gym, make sure to keep challenging yourself by raising the difficulty level. This is good for strengthening the muscles, back, core, arms and lower body.
Ginga for Added Zing
The idea is to try something new and keep the workout mix interesting. The actor is seen working on his footsteps for Ginga, a style of footwork used in the martial art capoeira. Make sure to keep up at it so that it doesn't get boring. Everything new teaches you something, this is about balance, perfection, mindfulness and keenness to learn.
Balance, Focus, Flexibility
Like mentioned above, the actor likes to keep it fun and interesting and therefore, you'll see that his routine involves several different exercises apart from his time at the gym lifting weights and nailing cardio. He works on his focus, stability, balance and flow through different exercises. This is one of the examples.
Box Jumps
When you are done running on treadmill and lifting weights, here's another way to test your strength and push yourself beyond the regular. It requires strength to propel yourself forward to jump up and land on a certain height. This helps in building core strength, mobility, stability, and balance.
Don't Forget to Have Fun!
Everything becomes easy and fun when you starts enjoying it than considering it a chore. Learn it from Kaushal to mix fun with every day workout. Here he's seen dancing to a Bollywood song before hitting it with some arm workout. Of course those biceps pop out from his shirt!
