Here’s introducing Ermenegildo Zegna’s Pelle Tessuta, a special woven nappa, which is the result of an innovative research, aimed to recreate precious fabric using extremely thin strips of nappa leather in place of fabric yarns.

Nappa strips of 1,6/1,7 mm width are placed on a special loom in a warp position and are interlaced with horizontal weft strips, replicating the traditional method of weaving cloth, to obtain the real fabric from leather.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The full-grain Nappa leather is known for being lightweight, smooth and pliable. This in turn provides the fabric its standout qualities, including softness, elasticity and shine.
