We Are Getting A Ralph Lauren Documentary Very Soon

All the details you want to know

After 50 years of being in the fashion business, legendary designer Ralph Lauren is all ready to become a movie star with an HBO documentary titled, Very Ralph. The designer’s journey will be documented by Emmy-winning producer and director Susan Lacy.

There are multiple reasons to look out for Lauren’s feature-length film that’s slated to release on November 12th. For starters, the film will trace back the designer’s journey from his childhood in the Bronx to creating the ultimate American dream with his numerous labels. The documentary also features extensive interviews with his industry pals including Anna Wintour, late Karl Lagerfeld, André Leon Talley, Hillary Clinton, Robin Givhan, Jason Wu, Naomi Campbell, Martha Stewart, Calvin Klein among others. Susan Lacy has previously directed Spielberg and Jan Fonda in Five Acts for HBO.

Only last year, the brand celebrated its 50th anniversary with a runway show in Central Park, New York. Lauren also happens to be the first American designer to receive an Honorary Knighthood by Prince Charles for his excellent services in fashion.

Fashion documentaries and shows have been on an all-time high this year. We had Celebration about Yves Saint Laurent, and McQueen traced the life of Alexander McQueen. While we painstakingly wait for November, tell us your favourite fashion film of all time.
