Apart from a custom fit, how else are bespoke shoes worth the extra money?

SG: Bespoke denotes high quality and superior fit. A discerning client is looking for different styles, unique leathers and longevity when he invests in a bespoke pair of shoes. AD: Whether the higher price paid for a pair of bespoke shoes is justified and worth it is really a question of a person’s individual perceptions and how much he appreciates great styling and design and /or values comfort and a good fit. Generally speaking, bespoke shoes, tailor-made to suit the taste and personality of the wearer, offer a much better fit and greater comfort than an off-the-shelf model.

What are the styles customers are opting for when it comes to bespoke shoes?

SG: The wedding season saw an upsurge of suede and nubuck shoes, which work well with bandhgalas, and patent leather oxfords for tuxedos. We have also introduced shoes with a jute finish and embroidered loafers this season, to go with our SS Homme Couture line. The onset of summers definitely indicates an inclination towards penny loafers and criss cross slip-ons, which are easier to wear and maintain.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

AD: Younger clients opt for loafers, both formal and informal, as well as embroidered smoking slippers, personalised with quirky logos or initials. Older clients prefer classic brogues, monk shoes and patinated, antique finished whole cut Oxfords.

NS: Brogues and wingtips are the most selling shoes, and apart from these we sell a lot of tassel moccasins and boots.
