The best of Italian craftsmanship takes centre stage once again in Tod’s Fall-Winter 2017-18 collection. And the emphasis here once more is on the skin that goes into the making of its exquisite leather products including the iconic pash jacket. The lightweight, smooth- to- touch pash leather is a product of brand’s long tradition of experimenting with leather treatments.  Its stringy vintage velvety look is the result of skilled local artisans working with hand on lightweight shearling leather, repeatedly brushing, polishing and waxing it before incorporating the trademark Tod’s saddlery details. It’s not surprising then that the jacket is the personification of relaxed masculine elegance. 

Similar polishing and treatment of  Nappa leather combined with robust WJ rubber soles are seen in the footwear that is part of the season’s collection,  including moccasins,  winter Gomminos, demi – boots and ankle boots. Each shoe is as good as a personalised piece produced from maturing leather at the highly skilled hands of  the many generations of leather craftsmen who work at Tod’s factories in Italy.
