Raghavendra Rathore’s S/R’19 Collection Is An Ode To The Classic Bandhgala

Models walked down the ramp in tailored bandhgala jackets ranging from charcoal greys to jet blacks

At the recently held fashion week, designer Raghavendra Rathore displayed his summer/resort’19 collection titled ‘An Ode To The Bandhgala’. As the name suggests, models walked down the ramp in tailored bandhgala jackets ranging from charcoal greys to jet blacks. Showstoppers Anil Kapoor and Jahnvi Kapoor too walked the ramp in bespoke creations highlighting the Jodhpuri bandhgalas.

Known for putting the classic bandhgala cut on the global map, the designer also introduced jackets on women for the very first time. To promote hand woven textiles and craftsmanship, Rathore walked the ramp with his head craftsman. As for menswear, there was plenty for a man looking to dress in a classic traditional manner. Apart from the bandhgala jackets, the asymmetrical kurtas and dinner jackets too come through as stand alone pieces. Be it subtle the embroidery detailing on the jackets or the tone on tone layering, the designer puts forth a simple note – classic never really go out of fashion.
