Louis Vuitton has launched an art-infused video game to celebrate the 200 years of its founder.
Born in the small French town of Lons-le-Saunier on 4 August 1821, Vuitton moved to Paris where he officially founded the luxury maison in 1854.
Titled Louis: The Game, the main character of the game is Vivienne, an LV mascot, who is on a quest to find 200 birthday candles for Louis’ 200th birthday. An adventure and story of origin unfold while Vivienne searches for each candle.
The game, which is complete with embedded NFT’s will be released on August 4 for both Apple and Android users. Other notable events celebrating the brand’s 200th anniversary include the new documentary A Look at Louis Vuitton, premiering on Apple TV in December, which shows how the iconic trunk has been reinterpreted by more than 200 notable personalities from the worlds of art, design, and sport.
“Media is evolving so quickly that every time there’s a new way of communicating, you have to tell your story all over again,” said Michael Burke, chairman and chief executive officer of Vuitton. “Generations are now defined by technology, not by age.” As reported by WWD.

The French fashion house had previously developed a game called Endless Runner, which was launched in 2019 on the company’s website to showcase Virgil Abloh’s FW2019 runaway collection. In the game, players had to collect Louis Vuitton-themed tokens while running over obstacles.
