Louis Vuitton’s iconic LV Trainer gets a sustainable spin in its latest version.

The freshly-minted offering pushes the concept of sustainability further, blending creativity, sustainability, and eco-design. The silhouette of the shoe is made of 90% recycled and bio-sourced materials. Available in three color variations (green, black, and red), the trainers come adorned with Maison’s signature sustainable development logo.

Created by late creative director Virgil Abloh, the latest launch embodies the French fashion house’s innovative spirit and marks a new chapter in eco-design in the fashion world. Manufactured in the Louis Vuitton workshop in Fiesso d’Artico, Italy, these sustainable LV Trainers are birthed using a highly complex process, where the eco-design is blended with fine craftsmanship, in accordance with the codes of circular creativity.

A sizeable 94 % of the sole of the LV Trainers is composed of recycled polyurethane, with unchanged efficiency in terms of bounce, cushion, and foot support that improves lightness and comfort. Recycled cotton has been used for the lining, while 100% recycled polyurethane has been used for the insole. For the upper, it blends recycled polyester with corn-based plastic material, whereas, the laces are made from plastic waste.

The packaging has also been designed keeping the environment in mind, an example of the brand’s commitment to sustainable development. The sustainability logo also features on the inside of the shoebox and they made the choice to use plant-based inks and to leave the inside of this unprecedented packaging in its original kraft. The shoe bag comes in Tencel, renewable fibres from sustainably managed forests, which acts as a layer of sustainable protection for the footwear.

LV Trainers are available in sizes 4 to 15.5. The sneakers in white with green accents will be available in stores from August, while the red and black versions will hit the stores in September.
