Lakme Fashion Week in partnership with the Fashion Design Council Of India (FDCI) is all set to make its return to Mumbai after 16 years.
The fashion extravaganza will take place at the Jio World Convention Centre, starting from October 12-16. After two years of digital and phygital showcases, the designers are back with a bang and ready to present their upcoming collections.
Anamika Khanna is set to open the fashion week with her pret label AK-OK, with an unveiling of the much-awaited menswear line and the highly coveted womenswear collection. What’s more, Shahab Durazi’s return to the runway after 12 years happens to be one of the biggest highlights of the season.
The season will kickstart with established designers presenting their creations such as Gaurav Gupta, Samant Chauhan, Anju Modi, Gauri & Nainika, Amit Aggarwal, Saaksha & Kinn, as well as other leading designers such as Abraham & Thakore, Anand Kabra, Gaurang, Geisha Designs by Paras and Shalini, Nachiket Barve, Not So Serious by Pallavi Mohan, Payal Singhal, Pawan Sachdeva, Satya Paul, Shantnu and Nikhil, Shyamal & Bhumika and Rina Dhaka.

Experimental Collections
We can also expect some collaborative collections from renowned designers. Gujarat Titans will be the first Indian Premier League team to collaborate with the event to present a dynamic streetwear collection in partnership with designer Kanika Goyal. The athleisure collection will be launched in two segments, with the first Autumn-Winter collection launching in the upcoming season.
Sustainable Fashion
At Lakme Fashion Week X FDCI, Sustainable Fashion Day is observed to showcase curations and talents from designers who champion their ways to be fashion-conscious. We will see curations from Tencel x Anju Modi, Eká, and a showcase by Pieux – the winner of R|ElanTMpresents Circular Design Challenge in partnership with the United Nations in India. On the other hand, we will see a discussion on Fashion, Climate & The Role of Women moderated by Supriya Dravid, which will be presented by the RISE Worldwide & British Council of India.
