The Good, Bad, And The Ugly From The Met Gala 2018

A comprehensive roundup of fashion’s biggest night

The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual Costume Institute Benefit, popularly known as the Met Gala, has come to become the definitive night in the social calendar for celebrities to push fashion boundaries and show their artistic nous. This year’s theme was Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.

The Good:

Rihanna stole the headlines in a full papal getup from Maison Margiela, complete with a matching hat.

Gucci Creative Director Alessandro Michele teamed up with Lana Del Rey and Jared Leto for an incredible group outfit which looked right out of a baroque painting.

Migos also pulled off a great group look in all Versace, which was fitting because the song that got them worldwide attention was called Versace.

Black Panter star Chadwick Boseman also pulled off a fantastic, intricate Versace look.

The Bad:

Priyanka Chopra looked like a confused cosplayer.

Get Out and Black Panther star Daniel Kaluuya failed to engage with the theme at all in a drab grey suit.

The Ugly:

Elon Musk and his date, singer Grimes, stepped out in bizarre, dystopian future-esque outfits. The weirdness was completed by Grimes’ Tesla choker.
