The Alpine Eagle collection is Chopard’s interpretation of an innovative, ultra-contemporary luxury sports watch. Since its release in 2019, the Alpine Eagle collection enjoys the status of being one of the most recognizable watches in the world.
The Alpine Eagle XL Chrono reflects the collection’s characteristic harmony of form and symmetry, and the eight screws on the round bezel, crown guards and signature integrated bracelet are a few of its most identifiable features. For 2021, Chopard has introduced a new 44mm chronograph with two new updates: a bi-material case crafted in ethical gold and ceramised titanium, and a calfskin leather strap.
Avant-garde Materials
The 44mm case of the new Alpine Eagle XL Chrono is crafted from ethical 18K rose gold and ceramised titanium. The 18K rose gold comes from a supply chain that aligns with Chopard’s commitment to using only ethical gold since July 2018. The ceramised titanium used for the case offers high resistance against wear and tear. The ultra-light metal is obtained through titanium oxidization using electro-plasma technology.
New Strap
Chopard moves away from its signature iconic integrated metal bracelet and adds a black calfskin leather strap to the new Alpine Eagle Chrono XL. However, the leather strap retains the collection’s characteristic embossed central cap and a highly contemporary graphic design. And because style is all about details, its red bridle stitching subtly echoes the chronograph function indications on the dial.
The new timepiece gets a black dial inspired by the colours of alpine flora and fauna and reflects the intense black of mountain nights. It still retains the texture and radiant pattern of the Alpine Eagle collection.
Beneath the black dial beats the highly sophisticated chronograph movement – the Calibre 03.05-C that clocks in a power reserve of 60 hours. The automatic movement is certified by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC) and equipped with a 22K rose gold central rotor.
