The Heritage Chronometer Celebration lineup clearly pays homage to its 1960s predecessor. The design is deliberately minimalist, reflecting the original watch’s preference for simplicity. With its practical mesh bracelet and straightforward hands and index marks, it emphasises functionality; the high contrast of the hands against the dial highlights its precision as a COSC-certified chronometer.
The case of the watch is elegantly shaped, available in stainless steel or 18k rose gold in addition to the classic yellow gold; available in black, silver, and a rich brown dial finish respectively. Measuring a compact 39mm in diameter and 8.45mm in height, it features a polished finish, a sapphire crystal on top, and a solid caseback decorated with the Bucherer family crest and reference details. With a water resistance of 30m, the case can also withstand minor splashes.
The Calibre CFB 1965 movement, based on the reliable Sellita SW300 automatic movement, powers the watch. While CFB is recognized for its peripheral rotor technology, the use of an outsourced movement ensures easy servicing by most watchmakers. Operating at a frequency of 28,800vph, the movement offers a power reserve of 42 hours. Finally, the timepiece features an extra detail known only to the wearer: a case back signalling CFB’s heritage with a 1960s-era embossed family crest featuring a swan, symbolising Carl F. Bucherer’s hometown of Lucerne; a beech tree, representing the Bucherer family; and the date of the manufacturer’s foundation in 1888.
With the 18 K rose gold variants, with either brown or silver dials, limited to just 88 pieces each, and the stainless steel versions, with either black or silver dials, limited to just 188 pieces each, these stylish watches have been specially created to help mark CFB’s 135th anniversary year.
