German footwear brand Birkenstock released its third capsule collection designed in collaboration with American fashion designer Rick Owens.

The Birkenstock Arizona and Boston both feature extended straps and black metal rivets and hardware, which are also referenced on a version of the Rotterdam silhouette. All three come in black leather. Additionally, Owens has created extra takes on the Arizona and Boston that are wrapped in iridescent foiled leather.

“For our continuation with Birkenstock, in addition to the long straps from our first season together, I’ve added a sprinkling of riveting on sandals that could have come from one of my favourite Fritz Lang movies,” said Rick Owens in a statement. The collection features the anatomically shaped Birkenstock cork-latex footbed, covered with smooth premium Nappa Leather and the Rick Owens co-branding.

“Rick Owens continues to play an important role in our partnerships, his voice being totally unique and more relevant than ever. We are proud to partner with this independent designer on such a level,” states Birkenstock CEO Oliver Reichert.
