Abercrombie & Fitch’s new fragrance, ‘First Instinct, is meant for the naturally confident, sexy, and expressive man. ‘First Instinct’ is designed to take the wearer back to that place, that fleeting moment, when the chemistry was inescapable and attraction was first felt.
The base of the fragrance features sueded musk intertwined with raw amber, creating an imaginative, powerful sense of tension. Szechuan pepper forms the mid-notes, providing the fuel to the fire, heating things up, while touches of violet and citrus add depth and texture. The fragrance is topped off by a classic gin and tonic with hints of melon, capping off the layered, exciting, masculine construction.
Phillippe Romano, the perfumer behind the scent, explained, “I wanted to create a modern fragrance that balances both the fresh elements of fougere with oriental warmth. All the notes together create a scent with worldwide appeal, for the Abercrombie & Fitch man and beyond.”
The packing is based in Abercrombie & Fitch’s heritage, displaying a signature attention to detail. The bottle shape is unique in the undulated surface on the front on the back, and the clear glass allows the slate hue of the scent to come through. The silver accents on the cap and the plate on one side of the bottle give the product a powerful stylistic flourish.
