Raf Simons has been officially announced as the Co-Creative Director of the Italian brand Prada. The partnership sees the Belgian designer work along with Miuccia Prada with “equal responsibilities for creative input and decision-making” between the pair.
“It opens a new dialogue, between designers widely acknowledged as two of the most important and influential of today,” said the brand in a statement.
This isn’t the first time Simons has worked at a high-end fashion label. Since his self-titled menswear label in 1995, the designer served as the creative director for Jill Sander from 2005-2012. Later, he moved to Christian Dior where he stayed until 2015. The following year he moved to Calvin Klein, where he navigated the brand’s creative output until 2018. He also collaborated with brands like Adidas and Eastpak.
The first Prada collection from Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons will be for Spring/Summer 2021 and will be unveiled in September this year.
