Online fashion companies have started lockdown sales to beat the liquidity crunch during which shoppers can place orders and receive later after lockdown, reports The Economic Times.
Online firms such as Tjori, Voylla, Peachmode have started 80% discount sale to prevent inventory pile up as the delivery of non-essentials are suspended due to coronavirus pandemic.
“People are sitting at home and have more time to engage with the brand and look through our products. We do not want to close our doors on them,” said Vishwas Shringi, founder of Voylla in a statement to The Economic Times.
Small-scale online retailers have been trying to stay afloat as they have to pay their weavers and craftsmen. Mansi Gupta, the founder of Tijori said in a statement: “We built our lineup for the season and had already made purchases and had to pay our weavers and craftsmen.” Apart from regular products, the firm has also launched pandemic essentials such as disinfectants and sanitisers.
After giving out heavy discounts on its products during the ‘Lockdown Sale,’ Tijori has achieved 70% of its normal sales during the sale event.
Similarly, Peachmode is offering 25% more discount on selling price on prepaid orders on their Corona Clearance Sale.
